Mells Daffodil Festival will be held on Easter Monday 6th April 2015. With approx 100 street stalls, live music, and entertainment. The usual exciting programme of events sees the whole village transformed to make it a fun and exciting day out for all the family.
The Field surrounding the 15th century village church will host an array of activities to please family members of all ages from the Classic Car Competition and stationary engines to challenge ladders, bouncy castles and not forgetting face painting.
St. Andrew’s church is hosting Teddy Bear Parachuting (please see guidelines), Easter Bonnet Competition, Bell Ringing and The Frome Town Band. The parachuting takes place from the tower at the church at 11am (subject to wind conditions) and entry is only £1. Call Diana Silvester on 01373 812386 for more information.
If music is your thing then you will not be disappointed with the selection on offer in a number of marquees within the church field. You can always shake your stuff at our Zumba dancing sessions. A programme of the day will follow later.
Foodies are not forgotten and will be more than satisfied with the various foods on sale suitable for both meat eaters, vegetarians and those with a sweet tooth! A beer tent will be selling a variety of ales, ciders, wines etc. Coffee, juices and soft drinks all available.
For those wishing to have a quieter experience why not visit the glorious Manor House Gardens, a peaceful setting offering teas and home-made cakes and quiet lawn games. The Manor Gardens will be open from 11am- 4.30pm. Entrance on the gate will be 50p, children free. Teas/coffee + homemade cakes will be served during these times. Relax in this splendid garden playing croquet and other garden games or visit the fortune teller/healer who will be attending on the day.
Mells Shop and Cafe, The Walled Garden and the Talbot Inn will be open on the day and all worth a visit.
With the street stalls selling unique and exciting goodies, there’s something for everyone, so come along. We look forward to seeing you there.
