The organisers of the Mells Daffodil Festival are pleased to confirm that the wildlife film maker Simon King will open the Festival at 11am in front of St Andrews Church on Easter Monday 1st April. Simon has filmed and co-presented the long-running BBC One series Big Cat Diary which follows the progress of lions, leopards and cheetahs in the Masai Mara Game Reserve. He also co-presents BBC Two’s annual Springwatch and Autumnwatch series with Bill Oddie and later with Chris Packham and Kate Humble. For these, Simon films and presents live outside broadcasts from wildlife hotspots around the British Isles, including Shetland, Mull, the London Wetlands Centre and the Somerset Levels.
After opening the festival Simon has also agreed to be the judge for the Easter Bonnet Competition taking place in the Church immediately afterwards so start making your bonnets!
